Style Crest Inc. Quality Control Inspector (QC) in Fremont, Ohio

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring the quality standards established by the company are met by analyzing parts and determining if the part meets established standards by performing the following functions.

  • Understands on line packer QC checks and performs off line QC checks.

  • Knows all the parts and understands the function of material: cap, substrate, and regrind.

  • Performs each check on each QC sheet.

  • Uses tape measure, square, calipers, and micrometer and must own the tools needed to do their job.

  • Calibrates Hunterlab and Gloss meter

  • Complete reports accurately and completely and finds paperwork needed to determine the appropriate formula to use.

  • Solves minor equipment problems and performs minor repair work on equipment such as batteries on gloss meter or microscope

  • Changes thermocouple wire on oil can testers.

  • Explains to operators and packers why a particular defect will not work.

  • Makes informed decisions on how to handle quality problems that occur on an ongoing basis.

  • Uses technical drawings (blueprints) to answer questions about specs not on QC sheets.

  • Checks crating and stretch wrap area making sure it is run correctly and recorded on QC sheets.

  • Does calibration on all operation micrometers and calibrators.

  • Responsible for knowing Hunterlab including standardizing, reboot.

  • Follows all safety rules and procedures.

  • Must be capable of and willing to perform all duties of a packer as needed.

  • Performs activities in accordance with the procedures outlined in the work instructions.

  • Understand and follow VSI protocol for VSI product and color certifications

  • May be required to work with inspector during VSI inspections.

  • Assist plant management with special projects, gathering data.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and work as a team player.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and complete any required paperwork.

  • Ability to follow instructions.
