WESCO Vice President - Sales (Data Center Solutions) in Fremont, California

As the Vice President of Sales at Wesco Data Center Solutions (WDCS), you will play a pivotal role in spearheading and directing sales initiatives, focusing specifically on the dynamic Bay Area market. You will focus on emerging technology companies, which are incubated in the Bay Area and which have high revenue and growth potential. You will embed Wesco’s brand and values in the start-up phase, giving us the opportunity to grow and yield financial results over time. You will be responsible for positioning the value of all Wesco business units (UBS, CSS, ESS) with the target customer base. Additionally, you will create, develop and maintain high-quality relationships in the market and across the entire value chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, vision, and direction in strategic planning, enablement and execution.

  • Network and establish impactful executive relationships with startup organization in the Bay area.

  • Monitor and report back on market trends that are reported by the emerging market influences.

  • Manage to a top line growth, including planning and forecasting, while driving growth.

  • Establish goals and strategies for the business, ensuring alignment with the executives strategies across all business units.

  • Develop and lead a virtual sales team across multiple geographies as opportunities develop.

  • Foster and grow critical relationship with the partner community.

  • Develop plans for optimizing Wesco’s WorldWide Account Programme (WWAP) and the talent required to execute strategies.

  • Organize and lead strategic business reviews and present initiatives to senior sales leaders.

  • Responsible for setting and ensuring measurable annual individual performance objectives for their direct reports and teams.

  • Maintain reporting of key performance indicators (KPI), analysis of KPI’s and reporting to senior management.

  • Contribute to the development and execution of enterprise-wide Technology strategy and ensures its alignment with Wesco goals.

  • Develop succession planning & talent management strategies for the organization.

  • Coach & mentor a team of manager level employees.

  • Deliver presentations to ‘C suite’ level and at industry events / tradeshows.

  • Foster an environment that promotes proactive problem solving among the Wesco staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Masters Degree - Engineering, IT, MBA preferred

  • 12 -15 years experience in fostering and managing new vendor relationships

  • 12–15 years pre-sales experience in new emerging technologies that are still in incubation

  • 12–15 years experience of growing market share, managing price/volume mix, exploiting new revenue streams, and working with customers/intermediaries to drive sales

  • Strong capabilities in designing offering and solutions for new technologies markets

  • Strong entrepreurial skills to develop relationship in technology

  • Ability to identify opportunities in a start-up environment

  • Understands global competitive landscape, market insights and effectively communicates across key internal and external stakeholders

  • Business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and management of people and resources

  • Experience building and developing teams, fostering collaboration and cross-functional problem solving and providing clarity around roles and responsibilities

  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to exercise teamwork, leadership, and flexibility

  • Highly collaborative; able to effectively interact at all levels across the organization

  • In-depth knowledge of distribution industry, related solutions, and products preferred

  • Have experience in working in countries globally preferred

  • Ability to travel 50% - 75%
