Meta ODM Sourcing Manager in Fremont, California

Summary:

The AI, Compute, and Storage (ASC) team within the Global Supply Chain Operations (GSCO) group is responsible for teaming with our supply chain partners to build, deliver, and enable Meta’s AI and Compute and Storage infrastructure. Meta’s computing foundation is its Data Centers, and key strategic partnerships with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) across the Compute and Storage industry are a crucial piece in building and operationalizing this infrastructure. The ACS-GSCO is responsible for managing these relationships, setting and achieving key performance metrics (ex. On-time delivery) from our ODM partners while working dynamically to unlock challenges on the tactical (ex. supply), strategic (ex. sourcing strategy), and foundational (ex. process overhaul) levels for both ODMs and Meta. The team is dynamic, needing to coordinate across engineering, NPI, mass production, and sustaining challenges all within a given cycle, while also being subject matter experts, with deep familiarity across ODM management, production, manufacturing, and delivery best practices. Put simply: the ACS-GSCO team is composed of flexible problem solvers who build relationships both within- and beyond- Meta to achieve industry-leading performance and pave the way for Meta’s AI-enabled infrastructure. The ODM Operations Manager is a crucial role for the ACS-GSCO team, playing a pivotal part in operationalizing and optimizing our global supply chain. Serving as a detail-oriented operational leader of the sourcing organization in-region, this role has significant leadership responsibilities including driving sources of truth, responding to the most pressing operational needs across AI, Compute and Storage, and escalating/driving solutions with senior leadership at Meta and our ODM partners. Due to these factors, this role is a dynamic, impactful, critical, and crucial part of the GSCO global leadership team

Required Skills:

ODM Sourcing Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Work with ODMs/JDMs to design, develop, manufacture and deliver CPU/GPU/ASIC based compute hardware solutions, and ASIC enabling hardware.

  2. Drive operational reactions, preventions, and improvements across the ODM performance landscape: from long-range readiness to real-time production and delivery Guide teams and manage the bring-up, validation, launch, manufacturing and deployment of hardware systems.

  3. Develop and maintain deep manufacturing and operations relationships with executive management at outsourced manufacturing suppliers and system integrators.

  4. Develop supplier process improvement plans to improve manufacturing scale, yields, cost and time to deployment in partnership with quality engineering, hardware engineering and sourcing.

  5. Oversee all critical work including plan of record process, final test programs and operational reports to meet productization milestones and volume requirements

  6. Rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to executive teams and proactively identify and resolve potential supply issues that can affect product strategy.

  7. Handle global supply chain or live data center disruptions in real-time with the support of international teams on site if needed and on short notice Serve as the critical operational leader in region, and help establish a dynamic team footprint

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent combination of education.

  2. 8+ years of supply chain-centric technical experience in hyperscale data centers, semiconductor industry, automation/robotics and/or associated industries.

  3. Experience in planning of NPI pilots, product ramp, sustaining support, and end-of-life cycle for compute & storage hardware products in a large-scale environment. Interpersonal and communication skills with experience influencing, driving solutions, building consensus, and leading executives through influence.

  4. Experience achieving major mass production output under pressurized timelines and industry conditions

  5. Operational experience to understand the relationship between product development roadmaps, demand/supply drivers, manufacturing, production operations, and relationship management Outsourcing and manufacturing operations experience for hardware products with demonstrated manufacturing knowledge in multiple manufacturing models

$144,000/year to $201,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
