Meta Inventory & Operations Manager in Fremont, California

Summary:

TEAM The AI, Compute, and Storage (ASC) team within the Global Supply Chain Operations (GSCO) group is responsible for teaming with our supply chain partners to build, deliver, and enable Meta’s AI and Compute and Storage infrastructure. Meta’s computing foundation is its Data Centers, and key strategic partnerships with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) across the Compute and Storage industry are a crucial piece in building and operationalizing this infrastructure. The ACS-GSCO is responsible for managing the performance of these partners while setting and achieving key performance metrics (ex. On-time delivery) from our third party logistics (3PL) inventory partners, as well as our ODMs. This requires a dynamic approach to work to unlock challenges on the tactical (ex. supply), strategic (ex. Supply chain strategy), and foundational (ex. process overhaul) levels for Inventory Partners, ODMs, and Meta. The team is inherently dynamic, requiring coordination across engineering, NPI, mass production, and sustaining teams all within a given cycle. Put simply: the ACS-GSCO team is composed of flexible problem solvers who build relationships both within- and beyond- Meta to achieve industry-leading performance and pave the way for Meta’s AI-enabled infrastructure. The Inventory & Operations Manager is a crucial role for the ACS-GSCO team, playing a pivotal part in operationalizing and optimizing our global supply chain. Located in one of our North American based regions, this role is readily able to interface directly with our internal partners (across commodity management, ODM management, and manufacturing) as well as our external inventory and ODM partners across the globe. As a detail-oriented operational leader this role is critical for the measurement, management, and improvement of our inventory partners performance. Furthermore, this role will help scope, shape, and implement supply chain strategies that optimize for flexibility, speed-to-deployment, and resilience across Meta’s compute supply chain.

Required Skills:

Inventory & Operations Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Collaboratively update and set the supply chain inventory strategy

  2. lead the operational execution of the strategy

  3. Partner with key XFN stakeholders including commodity sourcing, ODM operations, commercial sourcing, business systems, accounting, and finance to ensure Meta’s inventory and 3PL operations are executed on-time

  4. Help to develop optionality frameworks in conjunction with Planning and capacity management

  5. Manage 3PL operational output including supplier performance

  6. Coordinate 3PL and ODM interaction and execution including PO and material transfer

  7. Perform historical root cause analysis to determine when and where inventory operations jeopardized on-time-delivery goals of the organization

  8. Rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to executive teams and proactively identify and resolve potential supply issues that can affect product strategy.

  9. Handle global supply chain or live data center disruptions in real-time with the support of international teams on site if needed and on short notice

  10. Proactively identify risks to manufacturing operations

  11. coordinate with internal and external partners to mitigate risks

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 6+ years of supply chain-centric technical experience in hyperscale data centers, semiconductor industry, automation/robotics and/or associated industries.

  2. Significant operational experience to understand the relationship between supply chain, inventory performance, logistics management, and manufacturing production needs

  3. Significant planning and data-management experience, particularly involving material or inventory tracking

  4. Experience managing external teams and partnerships

  5. Interpersonal and communication skills with experience influencing, driving solutions, building consensus, and leading executives through influence

  6. Proven experience achieving supply chain output under pressurized timelines and industry conditions

  1. Advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Operations Research

  2. 8+ years of technical, logistics, or manufacturing operations experience in the semiconductor, hardware, or consumer electronic spaces.

  3. Experience interfacing with internal & external partners in an entrepreneurial and cross-functional environment, requiring a latitude for independent judgment while coordinating people and technical resources.

  4. Experience in complex cross-functional team organizations and skills to project influence across suppliers and industries

Public Compensation:

$115,000/year to $170,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
