This requires unconventional thinking and lightning-fast, nimble solutions. We build enterprise products for Meta first.As one of the leading engineering teams in the enterprise world, our goal is to provide a solid foundation and platform for Meta businesses to build services and run workloads. As a Windows Systems Engineer, you will build the infrastructure for our high traffic, high visibility services. You will provide operational support for critical services that enable connected experiences found across Meta. We constantly review our processes, automate wherever possible, and develop our own tool chains when necessary. Required Skills:

Enterprise Windows System Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Build, scale, and secure the Windows environment within Meta enterprise infrastructure, a heterogeneous environment containing diverse operating systems and applications

  2. Apply modern engineering methodologies such as Infrastructure-as-Code, container orchestration, and software-defined storage

  3. Design & implement systems that are scalable, automated, monitored, and well-documented, and train others to take on operations.

  4. Find ways to leverage the scale and complexity of the larger Meta production infrastructure to solve problems for enterprise customers

  5. Lead incident root cause analysis through multiple infrastructure layers (compute, storage, network) and act as a final escalation point for enterprise Windows infrastructure.

  6. Provide guidance to other engineers on best practices to build mature services which are highly available, reliable, secure, and scalable.

  7. Help others around you move faster by identifying issues and driving them to resolution.

  8. Influence outcomes within your immediate team, peer engineering teams, and with cross-functional stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years experience in systems engineering

  2. BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)

  3. 5+ years experience automating the management of infrastructure and services

  4. 5+ years experience working with monitoring and configuration management tools such as Chef and PowerShell DSC.

  5. 5+ years experience PowerShell scripting (writing advanced functions & modules)

  6. 5+ years experience coding in at least one of the following languages: C#, Python, Ruby, PHP, Rust, or Go

  7. Thorough understanding of Windows operating system internals

  1. Experience working independently, handle large projects simultaneously, and prioritize team roadmap and deliverables by balancing required effort with resulting impact.

  2. Prior experience supporting Windows configuration management in a multi-region environment

$169,000/year to $233,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
