ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of the maintenance technician is to provide high quality troubleshooting, installation and repairs while working safely as a team member. Plant maintenance is the primary job functions of this position; however, these are not the only tasks performed by the Maintenance Technician.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Operates forklift, rail car mover, and other light industrial equipment.
Verifies accuracy of paperwork for work orders and vendor supplies.
Interprets and understands readings on equipment instrumentation panels.
Participates in formal and on-the job training programs to acquire/broaden both technical and non- technical job skills; participates in cross training activities.
Interacts with members of Plant on a regular basis to gather or communicate information, solve problems, etc.
Inspects equipment assigned to him/her each shift in accordance with Company policy.
Assists with preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair critical and routine Mechanical failures.
Complete planned maintenance work orders.
May assist with other areas of the Company operation as requested and trained. This position will require wearing all levels of PPE and requires training in emergency procedures and hazardous waste management.
Participate in an on-call rotation pool and respond to alarms, alerts and maintenance issues in the off-hours.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Required Education: High School Diploma/GED
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 2-years of experience in maintenance, or equivalent experience, is required, 2-4 years of experience is preferred.
Required Computer and Software Skills: General computer proficiency
Travel Requirements: <25% requiring overnight travel.
Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
A good understanding of the basics of the cement manufacturing process or logistics is preferred.
Demonstrates technical skills in Welding, Machine repair, and Basic Electricity
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
