Kokosing Welder/Fabricator-Kokosing in Fredericktown, Ohio

Kokosing Welder/Fabricator Summary: Performs a variety of different tasks, including the fit-up and welding of multiple items and the associated handling of a variety of material including stocking and handling of hardware and supplies. ** Please note -- we are expanding the Welding Team and the current shifts in the near future: 

The projected plan is to have this role be 1st shift (Monday - Friday) for around the first (12) months. 

After an estimated (12) months, the proposed goal is to expand the Welding Team and have a 1st AND 2nd shift. When that occurs, this role will transition to a 2nd shift role with the hours of Monday-Thursday: 3pm-1am with some overtime as needed ** Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for various areas of metal fabrication including both fit-up and welding.
  • Perform a variety of tasks involving use of hands and tools, such as welding, oxy/acetyl cutting, plasma cutting.
  • Operate power tools and equipment - i.e., drills, saws, pipe machines, forklift ,etc.
  • Weld various sizes, schedules and types of metal including stainless steel, carbon steel, chrome moly, etc., 
  • Obtaining various certifications.
  • Utilize arc, gas-shielded arc, and tig welding.
  • Utilize carbon arc gouging.
  • Order necessary materials for fabrication and repairs.
  • Perform other routine duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Build templates for fabrication needs.

Qualifications: Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate/GED.
  • Two or more years of experience in welding.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be safety driven and perform all work in a safe manner.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently, as well as be part of a team.
  • Arrive on time and responsible for scheduled work.
  • Have valid driver's license, good driving record required.
  • Read blue prints and sketches.
  • Repeat tasks of various duration according to a set procedure.
