Position Summary:

Schafer Industries is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern for its Schafer Driveline operation in Fredericktown Oh.

Job Summary:

A Manufacturing Engineer Intern documents the set-up instructions and job procedures for the assembly lines or work cells.  The intern would also continually support the on-going production manufacturing operation. The intern would develop concepts regarding work-study, ergonomics, operation research, manufacturing management, materials management, production plans.  Also, the intern would pursue optimization of the organization in areas such as materials, machinery, methodologies, measurements, and processes as required.

Essential Functions:

  • Update and develop the equipment start up processes and develop training plan.
  • Update and develop the work instruction for the assembly lines and work cells.
  • Evaluates and executes time-study techniques to establish labor standards.
  • Improve the production efficiency. Research about the tools, methodologies and processes and find out solutions to improve production efficiency.
  • Develop improvements of workplace design.
  • Evaluates opportunities for efficient utilization and cost reduction, presenting solutions to continually improve overall production system performance.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • High School diploma.
  • Intern must be enrolled in Associates or Bachelor's program in Engineering.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).

Working Conditions:
