Ethos Veterinary Health ER Scribe/Record Assistant in Fredericksburg, Virginia

Virginia Veterinary Centers is a multi-specialty referral practice and emergency hospital caring for animals in Richmond, Midlothian and Fredericksburg.

  • We are seeking 1 Full Time Records Assistant in our Emergency Department. This position is 100% onsite and is not remote.

  • You will be supporting an ER doctor by maintaining medical records and financial documentation.

  • Shifts will vary and require open availability, including weekends and overnights.

    Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Transcribe any dictated part of a record into the patient’s file. This can include a history, physical exam notes, diagnostic notes, medical plan, and witnessed client communications.  

  • Learn basic charge capturing for outpatients. Double check charges for services rendered while in hospital.  

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Candidates are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a vocational certificate/diploma in business or office administration preferred.

  • Experience in the veterinary or medical field is a plus.

  • Must be computer literate; basic computer skills with ability to navigate new software. 

  • Ableto type 60 words per minute. 

  • Excellent communication skills. 

  • Ability to multi-task. 

  • Ability to work well within a team environment. 

  • Must be willing and able to work days/evenings and weekends.

    Prerequisites:

  • You will be required to take a typing assessment during the observation interview.

  • Compensation is based on experience and skill set. Starting at $17/hr.
