Job Description

The Team Leader, Manufacturing is responsible for supervising the operations of one or more work centers with general responsibility for safety, quality, and compliance. The Lead will maintain a skilled manufacturing team of no more than 5 employees responsible for filling, assembly, and formulations to ensure production of high-quality products.

A Day in the Life:

  • Responsible for Technical Training of Line Operation, daily work targets, supporting and maintaining product standards, and reporting metrics to line management.

  • Ensure employees are following company policies and is responsible for issuing corrective action if/when needed.

  • Handle shift-to-shift communications to ensure seamless transition of work between shifts.

  • Promote a safe and positive team environment to achieve daily production goals.

  • Direct the daily work load to ensure schedule completion while leading utilization and efficiency.

  • Supervise and ensure compliance with ISO/GMP/FDA/class 7 requirements.

  • Maintain quality system by following SOP’s and work instructions.

  • Assist/lead departmental projects to promote PPI and achieve cost saving goals.

  • Complete manufacturing review of production documents and close work orders as needed on a nightly basis.

  • Open and run problem reports/CAPA as needed.

  • Work overtime as needed including both Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Provide immediate supervision to assigned staff; including personnel recruitment, regular performance evaluation and monitoring for development purposes, as well as ensuring appropriate resources are available and the effective use thereof.

  • Lead and/or participate in projects requiring research and/or coordination.

  • Support the establishment and maintenance of performance metrics.

  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement activities for service level performance.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • High school diploma/GED required.

  • Associate Degree or equivalent professional leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience within a distribution/operations environment.

  • Proven ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet project timelines.

  • Lean manufacturing experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite to support daily operations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and time management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply problem solving methodology to understand root cause and implement solutions.
