Aerotek Mechanic in Frederick, Maryland

Aerotek is hiring maintenance mechanics and maintenance technicians on all shifts for a manufacturing company in the Frederick Area. Starting pay is $25-30/hr based on skills and experience, negotiable based on level of experience. Candidates should have a strong mechanical aptitude and background in manufacturing including troubleshooting and repairing electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Ammonia system experience and PLC experience are a plus.

Description

  • Assist the facilities manager with ensuring that all facilities are structurally sound, mechanically operational, electrically efficient and safe by planning and scheduling daily/weekly preventive maintenance activities in coordination with preventive maintenance work sheets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the maintenance manager with ensuring that contract mechanical maintenance services meet specified result and/or work orders thus minimizing future operational problems by observing (spot checking) the work performed and advising maintenance manager when contracted services fail to meet specifications.

  • Contributes to the overall success of facilities maintenance by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Ensures operation of machinery, PLCs and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic, conveyor systems, production machines; following diagrams/sketches of operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications; and troubleshooting malfunctions.

  • Operate, trouble shoot and repair plant systems and PLCs accordingly to DFA procedures.

  • Perform required preventive maintenance on PLCs; including lubrication, cleaning and filter changes according to DFA procedures. Some programming is required but they will be basically troubleshooting with a computer and figuring our what is wrong with they system through the computer.

  • Must follow safety, GMP, HACCP and all other DFA procedures and policies.

  • Provide communication to all support team members by following proper escalation procedures.
