American Job Center Industrial Maintenance Technician in FREDERICK, Maryland

Industrial Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift)

The maintenance technician will be responsible for assisting a small team of employees to keep up with preventative maintenance, lean projects, safety audits, and more for Structural Building Solutions in Thurmont, MD. The maintenance tech will be expected to have a basic knowledge of electrical/ mechanical components of machines. Communication and time management are vital for this role. Must be able to be self-motivated and work productively under little supervision. 2nd shift work hours are 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work with a small team of maintenance techs to keep warehouse running.
  • Work with industrial machines to keep up with preventative care.
  • Trouble shoot technical issues on machines.
  • Work with production team to identify hazards that need repaired and find solutions.
  • Assist Senior Maintenance Techs on high level projects.
  • Be flexible. Under the company umbrella we have several locations in the town of Thurmont. Occasionally these locations will need assistance from our maintenance team.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting forklift issues and repairs
  • Taking lead on Welding projects

Job Requirements

  • Must have background in maintenance and experience working with heavy machinery.
  • Must have welding experience.
  • HVAC or Automotive experience is a plus.
  • Must have basic LOTO experience.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated.

Work Environment

  • The warehouse is not climate controlled.
  • Due to the nature of the product we build, the warehouse is dusty.
  • Work is mainly performed inside of the warehouse or other facility but will occasionally need to work outside to do facility repairs or yard maintenance.
  • Work 2nd shift (2:30-11:30)

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to be on your feet 8-10 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
  • Must be able to work in all climates.
  • Must be able to work on machines of all heights, this means stooping to get to low areas in awkward positions, to getting on a lift to replace light bulbs, or a ladder to reach a high spot on a machine.
