ATCC Facility Technician in Frederick, Maryland

Overview

Ready to shape the future of science and global health? ATCC, a pioneer in biomaterials manufacturing, is seeking a Facility Technician for a direct hire onsite role based in Frederick, MD. This Facility Technician will primarily be based primarily at 1 site but must have the abilty to mobilize as needed b etween three local buildings.

The Facility Technician maintains and repairs the organization's facilities, systems, and equipment, overseeing daily operations, conducting inspections, and performing necessary updates or repairs. Ability to ascend 30' and work safely on facility rooftop and work in all different weather environments as required .

They prioritize order requests and inspections to ensure compliance and address critical issues promptly. Additionally, they conduct equipment qualification, validation, and calibration to maintain readiness for the metrology program.

Responsibilities

  • Facilities Maintenance and Repair: Monitor, inspect, and perform preventative updates or repairs on facilities or systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and environmental management systems. Receive and prioritize work order requests, coordinating with outside technicians when needed.

  • Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Install and relocate office fixtures, lab equipment, and repository equipment according to plans or blueprints. Maintain inventory levels of equipment, supplies, or replacement parts and schedule maintenance to minimize operational disruption.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Provide corrections to SOPs, recommendations, and updates to Senior Management, elevating major concerns promptly. Maintain accurate records in Facility Management, Document Management, and Records Management systems. Follow established protocols for equipment validation and qualification. Ensure adherence to ethical safety standards and perform on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma required and 2-5 years' experience or equivalent experience.

  • Staff hired for the NCI Central Repository Program must be eligible to obtain an NIH Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card by submitting a Declaration of Federal Employment form within 60 days (about 2 months) of employment.
