GENERAL PURPOSE

Drive and operate a vehicle, which may include small trucks, vans, and SUVs for delivery services. Collect and transport goods or products to their destinations according to the assigned schedule(s). Load and unload goods or products. Interact with customers in a professional manner. Practice safe driving habits and follow all safety regulations and standards.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Collect and transport goods, products, lab samples, etc., from all assigned company and customer locations according to the established schedule(s)

· Follow schedules and use navigation apps to plan each route based on road and traffic conditions

· Complete documentation such as logs, mileage, or cargo reports

· Keep supervisor informed of any requests or concerns brought to the driver’s attention by customers

· Report any situations that arise during the delivery process (e.g., delay in route, accidents or vehicle breakdown)

· Maintain assigned vehicle in good working order. Perform vehicle maintenance checks and advise management of needed maintenance and mechanical problems

· Collect payments, document amount, and offer receipts when applicable

· Provide support to department when not transporting goods or products

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Delivery experience preferred

· Certification and/or License – valid driver’s license with no significant restrictions or violations; must obtain any certifications/licenses required by regulatory agencies as a condition of continued employment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing

· Able to interact positively and work effectively with others (interpersonal skills)

· Able to perform tasks and duties without constant supervision

· Able to follow through on day-to-day responsibilities

· Able to follow directions and meet deadlines

· Able to project a professional image

· Basic knowledge of DOT regulations

· Must be able to read, write and speak English
