WATTS Environmental Engineer in Franklin, New Hampshire
Provide day to day operational and technical environmental, health, and safety (EHS) support to our organization.
You Will:
Implement environmental stewardship strategies to achieve regulatory and corporate requirements, advance site.
Ensure air permit daily compliance obligations are met along with pollution control preventive maintenance and daily evaporator management
Lead water, wastewater, and stormwater sampling and corrective action planning
Conduct environmental related inspections including stormwater, spill prevention control and countermeasures (SPCC), hazardous waste, and air pollution controls
Prepare and submit environmental reports including EPCRA Tier II, TRI, and biennial
hazardous waste
Maintain the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification
Lead the chemical management program including SDS management, chemical inventory, GHS labeling, and new chemical approvals
Provide hands-on response to incidental spills and waste management
Lead the identification of environmental risks & opportunities; work with other functional or operating team members on execution of plans
Complete contractor safety management training and new hire EHS orientation training and coordinating ongoing EHS training
Assist with the industrial hygiene program including annual noise survey, audiometric testing management, industrial hygiene risk assessments, and medical monitoring
Participate in incident/event investigations and in the safety committee
Support identification and execution of sustainability projects
Assist employees with Safety Shoe/Glasses Program and with procurement for the EHS department
Provide guidance to employees filling out incident reports and near miss forms. Communicate with Supervisor of any new incidents/near misses.
You Have:
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Occupational Health & Safety
2 years of experience in field preferred
General awareness of both State of NH Department of Environmental Services environmental regulations and Federal OSHA safety regulations
Willingness to obtain New Hampshire Depart of Environmental Services Hazardous Waste Coordinator certification within 6 months

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. This role consists of extended periods of sitting, standing, stooping and walking and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. This position requires the ability to move throughout the plant, office areas, and up and down stairs. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, 80 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position also required the ability to follow safety procedures including: PPE (Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes), Potential Hazards - Bending and Ergonomics - Follow correct lifting procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work in office environment with frequent exposure to a manufacturing/factory environment
May occasionally perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
