Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Chart's Field Service Tech position plays a key role in the field service repair of Chart's products. Chart's Franklin, IN facility is currently seeking candidates interested in a career that requires traveling, a special skill set, and dedication. This position performs a variety of functions including but not limited to welding, pipe fitting, installation, cutting, grinding metals at job sites in the field under the supervision of a CLI Site Supervisor.

This temporary position is being staffed with a target date of September 15th, 2023 for a on-site deployment date of October 4th, 2023 to a customer located in Saudi Arabia. This assignment will last approximately 45 days.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • If welding: Perform ASME welding on pressure retaining and structural components per ASME VIII and B31.3 code standards. Primarily GTAW welding with the occasional use of SMAW and GMAW procedures

  • Perform work in a permit entry confined space environment

  • Perform all work safely and in compliance with applicable OSHA, ASME, Company and Client specifications

  • Operate company and rental vehicles and equipment

  • Cut, grind, and fit pipe and segments for welders

  • Assist with performance of testing of pressure vessels and piping systems

  • Bolt up piping assemblies

  • Assist with leak detection and equipment inspections

  • Assist with removal of insulation and structural components as needed to access work space

  • Work off of Scaffolding and or arial work platforms as needed

  • Handle basic issues and problems as they arise with the cognitive reasoning to refer more complex issues to higher-level staff

  • Perform other general tasks as directed by your supervisor

  • Report any near misses or injuries immediately to supervisor, HSE Manager, and Project Manager

  • Be aware of all PPE and site-specific safety requirements

  • Perform work under direct supervision

Your Education Should Be…

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Vocational school education (Preferred)

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • Able to lift objects 50+ pounds

  • Able to work in extreme outside climates

  • Work in confined spaces and at extreme heights – 250-300 ft +/-

  • Unrestricted range of motion

  • Able to pass a respirator fit test

  • Able to work in a fall arrest harness

  • Working 12hr days 7 days a week when on a job site

  • Possession of or ability to obtain a passport for international work (preferred)

  • Ability to travel without restriction in the US

  • Competent in reading a tape measure

  • Competent in the use of general hand tools and power tools

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in a welding, fitting, or construction capacity

  • Welding certifications (Preferred)

  • Stainless Steel TIG Welding (Preferred)
