About this role

Business Unit Overview and iSW Germany

The iShares & Wealth sales team develops and maintains relationships and drives flows with fund investors in Germany.

The Manager Research & Strategic Clients Team sits within iShares & Wealth and is responsible for developing business with German key accounts such as home offices of retail banks, private banks and distribution networks of strategic partners. This focuses on the advisory channels and includes the distribution of iShares ETFs and index funds, BlackRock active funds, as well as private markets and technology offerings.

Key responsibilities

This position can be based in Frankfurt am Main or Munich, focusing on delivering our products (Index/ETF, active funds, Alternatives) as well as solutions (Technology) and Services (Model portfolios, Portfolio construction) to Wealth Management clients, predominantly to large banks servicing retail and HNWI clients, private banks and wealth managers in Germany. The candidate is working in close partnership with our internal and global partner groups to service our clients and help them build better portfolios. In addition, the candidate will develop a clear strategy for his/her client segment to develop and identify new business opportunities.

  • Maintain and develop deep relationships with banks and wealth managers with the goal to drive buy list penetration and flows in ETFs, active mutual funds and private markets

  • Client support with regards to fund positioning and strategy during due diligence processes as well as after sales communication

  • Offer additional services to clients like technology, our capital market views, support when it comes to portfolio construction or help clients within their business model transformation

  • Sets a clear strategy for clients, in line with the country strategy and the iShares & Wealth strategy for Germany. Development of the established and identifying new opportunities for the business

  • Further development of sales and distribution approaches, creation of marketing documents for the product range as well as further services of BlackRock in Germany

  • Identification and acquisition of new customer target accounts in the region

  • Be in line with all regulatory & legal requirements

  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment

Knowledge/Experience

  • 4-6 years of experience in role with exposure to relevant financial content

  • Proven excellence in a relationship management role, ideally demonstrated by several years of experience

  • Thorough knowledge of the German retail asset management market

  • Deep understanding of the sales process, prospecting, objection handling, closing and long-term relationship management

  • Understanding of the whole product set (mutual funds, ETFs, Index funds and private markets) and competitive landscape

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bsc/BA or Master’s in finance, Economics, Business Administration or high academic achievements in other disciplines with deep subject matter expertise

  • Client and sales oriented, very high-quality standards

  • German mother tongue; Fluent spoken and written English

  • Displays a strong presence, is comfortable in interacting with clients and colleagues of all levels of seniority
