LOCATION: Frankfort, IN

Position Summary:

The primary focus of this position is going to be responsible for preventative maintenance, layout, installation, and repair of all electrical equipment and machinery in the facility including motors, generators, transformers, controls, timing devices, VFD's, cabling, and conduits. This includes connections to any new or existing machines or electrical equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • General maintenance with heightened focus on electrical repair needs.

  • Repair circuit breakers, replace old switches, track down electrical shorts and generally ensure electrical systems are working safely.

  • Inspect and test electrical systems and recommend fixes or replacement strategies.

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance procedures per schedule.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and machinery manuals to diagnose problems, identify parts, and learn proper equipment operation.

  • Handle electrical issues throughout the facility.

  • Replace breakers, fuses, wire motors, and contractors.

  • Partner with local utilities, inspectors, and vendors.

  • Follow all lock out/tag out processes and disconnects on equipment.

  • Locate parts in manual and request as needed for service and/or repair.

  • Actively seek to find problems to assigned area and correct before the problem(s) become critical.

  • Communicate conditions of equipment by completing appropriate maintenance records and sharing with incoming maintenance personnel.

  • Cooperate with all manufacturing personnel.

  • Ensure safety standards are adhered to at all times.

    • Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with motor controls wiring.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Self motivated yet able to take orders as directed.

  • Good communication skills, able to interface with machine operators.

  • Able to follow safety procedures that meet both company and OSHA standards.

  • Ability with or without accommodation to work overtime, holidays, and weekends when needed.

  • Understanding time management.

  • Read and understand schematics, drawling, layouts or other specifications.

  • Physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolding, roofs, and aerial lifts.

  • Experience with industrial controls, conveyor systems, MCC, MDP's, motor starters, and VFD's.

  • Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty, and fast paced.

  • Proficient in testing electrical systems, wiring, and equipment using an ohm meter, voltmeter, megger, and oscilloscope.

  • Experience with AC as well as DC motors and drives.

  • Able to complete daily tasks and work orders in our computer system.

  • Able to keep your workspace organized and clean of clutter.

  • Must also be able to communicate effectively with other workers, guests, customers, vendors, especially when diagnosing problems.

    Education & Experience:

  • HS Diploma is required. Trade certificate is strongly preferred.

  • Possess a recognizable journeyman's card or a minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical experience.
