IPlytics maintains one of largest worldwide patent and standards databases including over 150 million documents across more than 100 different sources. We are looking for a Patent Data Quality Analyst who is willing to take responsibility to ensure the continuous data quality across all IPlytics databases including worldwide patent documents and standards documents.As a patent data analyst, you are comfortable with working with large data sets of patent and standards documents to run statistical analysis, perform plausibility tests and ensure that result sets and data tables across all IPlytics databases are of the highest quality.

You are responsible for setting up data quality monitoring systems, define data quality standards, working alongside our data scientists and data engineers. You will be required to see out a project from conception to final product, requiring good organizational skills and attention to detail.

To ensure success as a data quality analyst, you should exhibit extensive knowledge of data analysis techniques and experience in a similar role. A top-notch data quality analyst will be someone whose data analysis expertise results in reliable, consistent, complete data for our end users.

Your tasks:

  • Monitoring the patent data integration process to ensure consistency and quality from the sourcing of data to the processing of data and the integration of the data in tables and visual dashboards.

  • Working directly with our patent intelligence solution to perform plausibility tests ensuring that data tables and analytical results are accurate and robust.

  • Overseeing and guiding the approach to update, process and harmonize unstructured data across different data sources.

  • Reporting to the product team data issues and inaccuracies, developing strategies to improve the overall data quality across databases.

  • Creation of concepts to ensure the monitoring of data update schedules and automated data quality checks.

  • Define data quality standards.

  • Gain a deep understanding of the significance of the data and what the value of that data is to the end user with an understanding of how the end users use the data to answer their business questions.

Your profile:

  • Degree in Economics, Mathematics or Data Science

  • 4+ years of data analyst experience – work experience with patent data preferred

  • A solid understanding of how to process and analyze patent data or comparable

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • High degree of emotional intelligence, including the ability to both effectively engage and inspire one’s team members

  • Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail

Your skills:

  • Database: Familiarity with analyzing large data sets with Excel, Access, OpenRefine or other database refinement tools

  • Statistic ability: Experience with Stata, R, SPSS and other statistical software
