Paramount Writer / Producer, Creative Services - CBS Dallas in Fort Worth, Texas

Join CBS Texas as we look for a creative writer / producer to help grow our news brand through innovative and effective marketing. Someone who believes local journalism exists to make their communities a better place to live. Someone who wants to offer hope and solutions when times are tough and celebrate the greatness that makes us choose this place that we call home.

We are searching for someone who thrives on generating daily brand marketing on both linear and digital platforms. With a focus on driving engagement and viewership, you will create daily marketing messages that help grow our brand. You are also a great collaborator working with our news team and all levels of staff.

You will report to the Promotion Manager and will work with a small team of producers and designers searching for the best opportunities to market the news product and our brand differentiators each and every day.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, produce, and edit daily marketing messages that help grow our brand.

  • Assist with field/location production.

  • Work directly with reporters and anchors to authentically market the content of our news products.

  • Attend/contribute to daily news planning meetings on-site and remotely.

  • Generate and post creative social media messaging and OTT marketing on a daily basis to drive viewership to our newscasts.

  • Assist with other department projects including brand development and content creation.

  • Assist with station community events and activations.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Certification Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience in marketing, preferably in news or a similar media environment.

  • A passion for local journalism and serving the community.

  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce effective marketing with conversational messaging and use of elements.

  • Teamwork mentality with great interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively with on-site news producers, on-air personalities, and production staff.

  • Proven copywriting skills for broadcast and social media with experience on Facebook and YouTube platforms

  • An ability to multi-task in a fast-paced news environment and manage deadlines.

  • Videography, lighting, and overall production skills are a plus.

  • Advanced knowledge of Premiere editing.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, iNEWS and WideOrbit a plus

  • Experience working in news marketing is preferred, but more importantly we are looking for passionate fans of local journalism who want to grow with our brand and make a difference in the community.
