Description

Our client, a financial services company located in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a paralegal to join their growing team. This paralegal will play a crucial role in managing litigation matters, maintaining legal documentation, and ensuring our commercial lending practices adhere to all applicable laws and regulations. This is a direct hire opportunity working in-office 5 days/week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in handling all litigation-related activities, including responding to discovery requests, preparing pleadings, and liaising with external legal counsel.

  • Keep legal records and files meticulously organized using our Case Management software.

  • Perform in-depth legal research and analysis on complex issues related to commercial lending.

  • Work closely with internal partners, including underwriting, loan operations, and risk management teams, to deliver expert legal advice and support during the loan approval process.

  • Play a key role in resolving any legal matters or disputes that arise, collaborating effectively with both in-house and external counsel.

  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of internal policies and procedures, ensuring they address legal requirements.

  • Lead regular compliance audits and risk assessments to uncover areas of potential vulnerability and address them promptly.

  • Engage with various departments across the company to implement risk mitigation strategies effectively.

  • Document and maintain comprehensive records of all compliance activities to support auditing processes and regulatory examinations.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies.

  • 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm

  • Strong understanding of litigation processes, legal research, and commercial lending practices

  • Previous experience working in a legal document management database.

  • Excellent organizational skills for managing complex records and documentation.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting due diligence.
