Fort Worth, TX company is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team for a contract opportunity.

Leverage the latest technology to solve business problems in a collaborative environment at this Fortune 500 transportation giant. Top technical resources are retained on long-term contract engagements.

Responsible for leveraging cutting edge technology to solve business problems by participating in all phases of the development process from inception through transition, advocating the agile process and test-driven development, using object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct and test reusable objects, and making the codebase better.

Contract Duration: 9+ Months

Location: Fort Worth, Tx 76155

HYBRID: Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday on site

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent experience in infrastructure engineering.

  • Strong sense of ownership.

  • Highly curious.

  • Fascination with big airplanes and travel.

  • Able to work on site 3-5 days per week.

  • Able to travel on occasion.

  • Able to work independently with minimal direction.

  • Able to analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and determine root cause with minimal assistance.

  • Able to create solutions and implement them with minimal assistance.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux 6.x/7.x and Ubuntu 18+.

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 2K19 operating systems.

  • Experience with storage technologies (SAN and NAS).

  • Experience with network technologies (firewall, routing, LAN, WAN, DNS).

  • Experience with system monitoring tools (Dynatrace or others).

  • Experience with PowerShell and BASH scripting languages.

  • Experience with server virtualization technologies (VMware ESX Server, Citrix XenApp Server, Microsoft Hyper-V).

  • Knowledge of application and web servers.

  • Knowledge of SSL technologies.

  • Knowledge of relational databases.

  • Knowledge of Log Analytic tools (Splunk, Elk, Moogsoft).

  • Collaborate with IT and Business teammates in an agile development environment.

  • Implement technical requirements and solutions.

  • Perform configuration and maintenance of applications and servers with a focus on security vulnerabilities.

  • Maintain system documentation.

  • Support enterprise application performance management, monitoring, and logging solutions.

  • Troubleshoot and support systems and applications across on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Proactively share information regarding risks and opportunities to build competitive advantages and create efficiencies.

  • Perform proof of concept for new technologies.
