Restaurant Bartender

SUMMARY:

Branch & Bird is searching for a reliable Bartender who will be responsible for service and production in our bar area. This person will prepare craft cocktails, wine, craft beers, coffee, tea and non-alcoholic beverages within the specs of Branch & Bird. Secondary duties will be to help deliver food orders to guest tables, provide courteous and efficient service, present accurate guest bills and collect accurate payments. This person must assist in the maintenance of the bar/barista area and equipment and be able to maintain timely, detailed and deferential guest service standards. The Bartender will report directly to the management.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks

  • Prepare and stock the bar and cocktail area with the necessary tools to ensure an effective shift

  • Be knowledgeable of the brands of beer, wine and liquor that we carry, as well as the ingredients for the most common cocktails

  • Prepare and sell coffee, tea and non-alcoholic beverages by following recipes and preparation techniques

  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, specials, 86'd items, liquor brands, beers, wines and non-alcoholic selections available in the restaurant

  • Greet and acknowledge all arriving guests, however busy and whatever time of day

  • Take/Enter/Deliver beverage and food orders in a timely, courteous, accurate manner

  • Present guest bills and process payments in an accurate, courteous and timely manner 

  • Performs daily cleaning and maintenance on all equipment

  • Ensure that service and product standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations (TABC)

  • Arrives to work on time, well-groomed in a clean uniform for every shift

  • Ability to understand guests' service needs 

  • Handle proper food & beverage preparation, rotations, labelling and storage techniques

  • Handle guest complaints by following procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction

  • Complete specific or general side-work, opening and closing duties as assigned

  • Breakdown the bar and cocktail area at the end of the shift

  • Follows all sanitation and safety policies

  • Maintain knowledge of scheduled daily activities

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous bartending experience required

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED

  • TABC Certification

  • Food Handler’s Certification

  • Must be passionate about creating an exceptional and professional guest experience

  • Must have exceptional attention to detail and clerical accuracy.  Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.

  • Professional grooming, appearance, communication and demeanor a must

  • Must adhere to a flexible schedule that might involve nights, weekends and holidays

  • Must maintain proper physical movement allowing to be able to lift, push or pull up to 50lbs
