T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to Parsons as the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.

A. General requirements:

  • This operator works closely with design originators, preparing drawings or computer models of complex, or original designs that include multiple view, and detail drawings, require considerable drafting skill to visualize and portray.

  • The operator works from sketches, computer models and verbal information supplied by an architect, engineer or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments.

  • This operator selects required information from computer programs, manufacturers' catalogs and technical guides.

  • Manager, Lead or design originator may suggest methods of approach or provide advice on unusually difficult problems.

  • This worker may occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details, may provide advice and guidance to lower level drafters or serve as coordinator and planner for large and complex drafting projects.

B. Specific duties are:

  • Understands reference/model file concept for preparation of facility construction drawing package.

  • Able to manipulate multiple reference/model files to prepare specific discipline plan drawing and section/details.

  • Able to work independently, with a minimum or no supervision from the engineer.

  • Able to interpret and incorporate client’s Computer Aided Engineering Graphics (CAEG) standards.

  • Proficient with AutoCAD.

  • Checks the validity of drawing contents prior to adding to the inventory

  • Ensures the proper filing of drawings

  • Provides copies of drawings upon request

  • Accepts incoming drawing packages from Drafting Manager or Lead Drafter.

  • When no hardcopies are provided, creates PDF files from stored folder when directed the project is complete.

  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

Requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. College degree preferred.

  • Must be computer savvy and a fast learner

  • 2 plus years of Computer Aided Drafting experience, knowledge of Project Wise, and AutoCAD are required

  • Good oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team are prerequisites.
