Fort Wayne Metals Research Products Corp Shipping - Avionics 1st Shift - 688177413 in Fort Wayne, Indiana

The main responsibility includes properly packaging and labeling all outgoing goods for shipment; ensuring appropriate quantities are included, products are in good condition, the correct product is being shipped, and the necessary paperwork is included, as requested by our customer. Work with Inspectors and Schedulers to ensure that goods are received into Shipping and externally shipped properly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Understand customers requirements for product packaging, documentation, and production orders to properly prepare the goods for shipment in a fast paced, dynamic environment of changing requirements.
  • Package material for shipment and ensure that all labeling is accurate based on customers requirements.
  • Resolve spooling or documentation errors found with appropriate department and/or Customer Service Associate. Monitor resolution process to ensure shipment is made in a timely manner; bringing problems to the attention of leadership, as necessary.
  • Work with inspection and production to prioritize shipments.
  • Keep assigned work and storage areas clean and organized.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 12 years experience in a shipping department/position, preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Fast -paced production environment
  • Work hours consist of 40 hours per week.
  • Overtime may sometimes be required.
  • Appropriate PPE must be worn where posted and required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds alone and 200 pounds with assistance; must be physically able to load and unload heavy items
  • Frequent bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting.
  • Must be able to access all areas of operation.
  • Standing/walking most of shift.
