Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector Job Description

CALICO Under the direction of the Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for establishing and maintaining inspection methods and test requirements to ensure that products are being manufactured within specification for shipment to customer. Primary areas of responsibilities are listed below.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains safety practices at all times. Follows established management system controls to ensure product quality with process control documents such as Work Instructions, Control Plans, Process Flow charts and containment of Non-Conformity material. Participates in problem solving, lessons learned activities. Maintains Quality Assurance and Production Control Records. (QA Control Databases) Attends training courses as determined by Management Performs other duties as assigned. Qualification Requirements: Complete JFA-8013 Training Checklist - Quality Inspector IN-PROCESS INSPECTIONS Performs Incoming CSM,PG and RM material audits Equipment Verification. Go / No Go Standards. Performs Product Inspection such as visual product checks per Control Plan, GP-12 containment audits, etc. SPC AND PERFORMANCE TESTING Perform Full JFQ-2005 In-Process Inspection Form for all start-ups and other frequencies per control plan. Ex. SPC collection, entry and evaluation. Break Testing DSC Crystallinity Testing Moisture Analyzer Measurements Leak Test Values QA AUDITS PERFORMED Employee Training Performance Verification Sign-Off 6S Audits of Production Floor Organization Process Assessment Audits (per Control Plan) Dock Audits Stage Audits

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum High school diploma
  • Suggested (2-5) years of work experience with quality assurance in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a value-added plastic injection molding environment;
  • Ability to read part prints and interpret tolerances;
  • Working knowledge of measurement instruments with ability to perform dimensional and test studies with various devices such as Calipers, Micrometers, Dial Indicators, Keyence Vision System, Optical Comparator, Chatillon Tester, Moisture Analyzer etc.;
  • Working knowledge of Quality Assurance Standards such as Procedures, Work Instructions, Control Plans, FMEA, Process Flow Charts etc.
  • Working knowledge of Calicos ERP system for product quality approvals;
  • Ability to communicate with Employee and Supervisor verbally and in writing regarding status of inspections and other relevant standards.

DIFFICULTY OF WORK - Moderate - The work consists of standardized processes in quality control product testing process and problem solving activity. The understanding and ability to make practical application of the quality control process is essential to the operation to ensure the production of quality products.

Incumbent knows the importance of achieving, maintaining product quality. PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS Incumbent may have contact with Calico Customers and constant contact with Employees of Calico Precision Molding. Tact and diplomacy must be used during all contacts. The purposes of these contacts are to exchange information and provide service relative to the status and quality of products.
