Parkview North Hospital Pharmacy Distribution Center Technician in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Summary: Responsible for ensuring medication inventory is safely and accurately received, repackaged, stored and distributed within the health system. Receives and breaks down vendor orders, identifies and segregates product requiring barcoding, accurately prepares and barcodes applicable product, and properly stores inventory (frozen, refrigerated and non-refrigerated). Creates production orders and follows bill of materials processes to produce and repackage medications in compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies. Utilizes warehouse management system software to plan and release outbound orders. Picks and prepares medications for delivery, including specialty packaging for refrigeration, for example. Responsible for maintaining inventory control for distribution points, including communication of supply issues with those locations. Consistently uses standard operation procedures to ensure accurate order fulfillment processing while maintaining a safe, healthy, and productive work environment.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent GED required. Successful completion or enrollment in Indiana Board of Pharmacy approved Pharmacy Technician Training program, within one year of employment.

Licensure/Certification: Must have an Indiana Board of Pharmacy Tech-in-Training license or a current State Board of Indiana license as a Pharmacy Technician or Intern.

Experience: One-year pharmacy experience and/or pharmacy technician oriented formal class work preferred. Shipping, receiving, and warehouse experience preferred. Warehouse management or inventory systems experience preferred. Demonstrates ability to use an RF handheld computer device as needed. Must be able to lift 50lbs, bend and twist frequently. Demonstrates ability to operate pallet jack as needed. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer knowledge required.
