Parkview North Hospital Medication Managemt Specialist in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Summary

Reporting to PPG Call Center Manager and working in the Centralized Refill group, assists patients with medication management, refills and other duties as assigned. Works with other teams within the Access Center, to include the PPG Schedulers, RN Triage team, and the Medication Authorization team to ensure callers needs are met for items related to medication management. Uses Epic (or current Electronic Medical Record) as the official patient record for documenting all items related to medication management review to include appointment history, scheduling a new appointment, reviewing previous telephone encounters, and Epic drug protocols as typical steps in the daily work to ensure safe medication management activities.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent GED required. Successful completion of an Indiana Board of Pharmacy approved Pharmacy Technician Training program.

Licensure/Certification

Must have an Indiana Board of Pharmacy Tech license or a current State Board of Indiana license as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern.

Experience

Minimum of one year pharmacy experience (retail work preferred or Institutional Pharmacy work) required.

Other Qualifications

Good verbal and written communication skills. Must have basic computer skills to include knowledge of Electronic Medical Record’s. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
