VP of Administration and Operations

This VP of Administration & Operations reports to the Group CEO and works collaboratively with general managers of the 8 M3 USA subsidiaries in the US and the UK. This position will oversee both US and UK businesses processes and has three key responsibilities.

  • Manage the corporate service functions such as accounting, human resources, and general administration.

  • Provide routine and ad-hoc financial analysis for operating business units.

  • Collaborate with the CEO and actively get involved with operational improvement initiatives at subsidiaries.

Duties include:

  • Supervise and manage the performance of six direct reports and team of 15+ across the US and UK in administrative areas such as accounting, HR, PR, and general admin.

  • Centralize and take ownership of purchasing and contract management.

  • Oversee PR, and corporate branding to improve M3 Group’s brand position in the US and UK.

  • Collaborate with the general managers of subsidiaries to design KPI driven operation reports

  • Provide deep-dive analysis when there are issues with KPIs

  • Prepare a monthly reporting package that includes full financial statements, forecasts, comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, operational Dashboard reporting, analysis of key business trends, actual versus budget variances and comprehensive executive level explanations of differences.

  • Work closely with the general managers to drive an efficient process for developing driver-based financial budgets and operating plans that links to the strategic objectives.

  • Develop and implement a rolling forecast re-forecasting including budget vs. actual variance analysis

  • Oversee and provide guidance relating to overhead expenses and efficiency targets.

  • Work closely with the Group CEO on strategic initiatives such as operation improvements of specific function of a subsidiary, post-acquisition management process, initiatives that have no natural owners, and so on.

  • Continually improve processes, lead change and elevate the level of reporting and analysis.

  • Supervise, mentor and develop direct reports.

  • Provide ad hoc analysis of complex data and make recommendations for action as well as lead various other reporting projects including decision support, metrics and analytics


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a quantitative discipline required; MBA preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance/operation experience in a matrixed or multi-subsidiary environment; a preference for the following industries: technology, consulting, e-commerce, internet or subscription businesses company experience.

  • Experience in improving/ fixing operations.

  • Experience in service and digital centric businesses.

  • Familiarity with the key performance metrics used to evaluate internet businesses including subscription products.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to manage a high-performing team by setting goals and helping people succeed in their careers.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to package and present complex analysis and recommendations clearly.

  • Demonstrated excellence in financial reporting and business analytics.

  • Excellent track record in hiring.

  • Experience in managing corporate functions such as accounting and HR.

  • Experience in working in corporate function at portfolio structured company

  • Experience in working in short term consulting projects

  • Strong work ethic, “sleeves rolled up”, and able to dig into the details.

  • Strong strategic thinking skills

  • Excellent communication and people skills enabling open, transparent and effective dialog with the CEO, subsidiary general managers, and employees on all levels and with varied professional sophistication

  • Ability to lead by example and coach co-workers
