Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a talented, experienced Software Engineering Manager to join our team in Fort Walton Beach, FL. In this customer facing role, the Engineering Manager will provide technical leadership and guidance for software modernization and development activities.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Developing complex software architecture and designs on projects

  • Lead the modernization and evaluation of complex software designs to identify flaws

  • Establish systems and software development processes and procedures within assigned product scope

  • Evolve processes to utilize the most effective new techniques as they become available, assuring the use of methodologies which minimize both design cost and product cost

  • Software project management reporting, documentation, and updates to Program Management

  • Establish required management systems and provide leadership to assure the effective performance of work, close monitoring of cost and schedule, and take timely and effective corrective action

  • Provide, directly or indirectly, top level technical leadership for the assigned design discipline(s) including selection and exploitation of promising new technologies, long-term goals, etc.

  • Establish software-specific peer review procedures and perform reviews of related documents and drawings

  • Ensure effective communication between assigned engineers and all other participants in the design process

  • Work closely with the Program Management and Business Development organizations to identify, define, and capture program opportunities consistent with the LOB s strategic objectives

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree from an accredited college

  • 10 years of experience; including supervision/management experience

  • Experience managing multiple software projects simultaneously

  • Extensive background in -AWS Development, DevSecOps Pipeline, Test Automation, AI, C# and MS SQL Server

  • Experience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tool

  • Experience performing software testing, validation, and verification activities

  • Previous experience in project leadership role or functional management

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and motivate technical teams

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $115110 - $195660

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
