Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Material Handler II with additional responsibilities in metal cutting and wood craft building. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently and safely handling materials within our plant, yard, or work site. In addition to traditional material handling duties, this position will involve metal cutting and wood craft building tasks, requiring a keen eye for precision and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities:

Material Handling:

  • Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, or storage areas, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols

  • Convert materials as needed, utilizing appropriate tools and equipment.

  • Perform tasks under specific direction, including shipping and/or receiving responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment with precision and care

Metal Cutting:

  • Use specialized tools and equipment to cut metal materials according to specified dimensions and requirements

  • Ensure accuracy in measurements and adherence to quality standards during the metal cutting process

  • Follow safety procedures to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries

Wood Craft Building:

  • Engage in wood craft building tasks, assembling and fabricating components to create finished products

  • Work with various wood materials to construct structures, fixtures, or specialized components

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Utilize computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and recording information related to material handling, metal cutting, and wood craft building activities

  • Maintain accurate records of materials, quantities, and production activities

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • HS Diploma or GED and 5 years' work experience or equivalent experience

  • Previous experience in metal cutting, or wood craft building roles is advantageous.

  • Ability to perform and understand required measurements anddimensions

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, calculation of percentages) to ensure understanding ofplanning

  • Ability to manage conflict and participate in teamactivities

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience in warehousing packing and crating of relatedmaterials

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $31680 - $50670

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
