BAE Systems IT Category Manager in Fort Walton Beach, Florida

Job Description

A skilled IT Category Manager is required to analyze, organize and execute our IT sourcing strategy across the sector. The position will work closely with engineering, business development, program management and legal. Therefore, high competency in leadership and business acumen are key. Under the supervision of a Procurement Director, the IT Category Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive commodity (IT Equipment & Software) fact base, identifying strategic procurement opportunities, and performing qualitative and quantitative analysis to support the formation and execution of commodity strategies resulting in superior cost and availability performance. To further the development and implementation of commodity strategies and process improvements, the Category Manager will engage in a high degree of collaboration and communication with engineering, programs, finance, manufacturing, contracts and other supply chain areas to include a supplier s leadership personnel. This cross-functional coordination will typically include engagement on integrated project teams (IPTs) where the Category Manager will provide inputs to influence key aspects of the business process and proposal process for identified spend categories (IT Equipment & Software). The Category Manager will take a lead role in the negotiation of Supplier Agreements including Long Term Supply, Reseller, SW Licensing, NDA s, Maintenance and Client Services. In addition, they will participate in supply chain process and system improvement initiatives guiding IT governance processes. As an agreement SME they will take the lead in negotiation of Terms & Conditions and in particular understand Software End User Licensing Agreements (EULA) and US Government specific requirements.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelors degree and >8 years plus of combined strategic sourcing, purchasing or supply chain work experience.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Certification in the following: Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) and/or APICS certification

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $101520 - $172620

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
