Currently, we are looking for a People Data Analyst to join the ArcBest team. The People Data Analyst creates and implements advanced analytical techniques to drive business decisions and strategy related to our People. This position collects and analyzes HR data and metrics to identify important trends. The People Data Analyst ensures that the data is accurate and presented in a clear, concise, and business-relevant manner to key stakeholders.

Your contribution may include:

  • Leverage advanced statistical techniques to collaborate on the development of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive solutions.

  • Oversee, analyze, and communicate people analytics key performance indicators (KPIs) across the organization.

  • Collaborate with organizational leaders and business stakeholders to identify key issues and develop data-driven solutions to address them.

  • Collect, clean, and analyze complex and multi-dimensional HR data to identify trends and derive actionable insight to organizational leadership.

  • Conduct people analytics projects and ad hoc analysis, delivering accurate and timely reports to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Provide consultation to stakeholders throughout the enterprise on people analytics strategies and techniques.

  • Manage the lifespan of people analytics projects, including data collection and integration, model building and validation, and model implementation and maintenance.

  • Leverage business intelligence tools to empower users with self-service access to insightful reports and dashboards, enabling effective data-driven storytelling.

  • Foresee potential issues, obstacles, and risks, and proactively develop solutions before they manifest into significant problems.

  • Streamline and improve efficiency of current processes through innovative enhancements and automation.

  • Conduct research and experimentation on strategic people analytics initiatives.

  • Continuously pursue learning opportunities to remain at the forefront of industry trends and developments to drive innovative and effective strategies within the field of people analytics.

  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As a People Data Analyst, you will be a member of the ArcBest People Services team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on workload.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline, including but not limited to Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering or equivalent, required.

Experience

  • Prior experience in Data Science or Analytics, preferred.

Computer Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Adept at navigating Relational Databases and executing queries in SQL.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R, along with a familiarity of business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

  • Adept at working with Anaconda, Jupyter Lab/Notebook, Azure DevOps, and Visual Studio Code.

Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases, preferred.

  • Ability to help generate relevant metrics to further business and HR strategic initiatives and priorities.

  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data and identify key trends, to present data in a logical, concise manner, and to explain data and metrics to a non-technical audience.
