Lockheed Martin Associate Maintenance Manager, F-35 // FMS Program in Fort Smith, Arkansas

Description: Lockheed Martin plays an important role in the national security of the United States and more than 70 other nations, ensuring peace and stability around the world. We are on a mission to strengthen the backbone of the free world by supporting Ebbing Field’s mission as the world class fighter jet training center for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Other responsibilities include:

• Advises Senior Manager of schedule requirement and production issues as they pertain to squadron aircraft.

• Supervisor supervisors and overall mx personnel and assign duties as required.

• Release aircraft for flight (safe for flight or exceptional release)

• Manages general services, repairs, and overhauls of aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure that aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight.

• Candidate may supervise multiple maintenance disciplines in an integrated workforce environment that consists of Military and Lockheed Martin employees.

• Ensure workforce follows appropriate technical instructions, 21-101, 8210D, and local operating instructions.

• Advises management on status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. Ensures good housekeeping and safety practices are enforced.

• Considered candidates must be capable of working first (1st), second (2nd), or third (3rd) shift(s) dependent on customer needs.

• Candidates should expect to depart on temporary duty assignments with short notice, dependent on customer or LM ICS needs to include stateside or overseas. This may include certain military required health screenings and immunizations.

• Security Clearance Required. Must have at minimum an Interim Secret Security Clearance AND must be able to obtain and maintain a Final Secret Security clearance.

• Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility might that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

• 10 Years minimum fighter aircraft maintenance experience with a thorough understanding of Fighter Aircraft Systems and flight line operations.

• 8 years minimum experience as a supervisor/manager in aircraft maintenance flight line environment.

• Strong verbal and written communications skills for coordinating with Field Service Representatives, and Maintenance Managers on schedules, aircraft status and issues as they occur.

• Effective communication skills for coordination at all levels throughout the USN Executive command structure to include Operations, Maintenance, and Logistics Support Managers.

• Ability to leading a diverse workforce.

• Experience developing and presenting formal briefings and presentations to a workforce and to management.

• Experience with such programs as Aircraft Scheduling/Records Management, Job/Maintenance Control, Configuration Control, Maintenance Information Systems, Tool and FOD Control, Training, Safety, Security, Hazardous Waste Management or Supply Chain Management.

Desired Skills:

• F-35 or Fifth generation aircraft maintenance experience

• Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) or Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS) experience

• Understanding of USAF Maintenance Practices

• Strong verbal and written communications skills for coordinating with Field Service Representatives, and Maintenance Managers on schedules, aircraft status and issues as they occur.

• Effective communication skills for coordination at all levels throughout the USAF Wing structure to include Operations, Maintenance, and Logistics Support Managers

• Proficient in the use Microsoft Office products

• Ability to develop and present formal briefings and presentations.

• Ability to develop necessary maintenance plans and procedures.

• Knowledge and understanding of USAF AFI 21-101/8210D

• Ability to develop work schedules and assign tasks.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.
