Natives of Kodiak Natural Resources Technician in Fort Rucker, Alabama

KOMAN Government Solutions, LLC (KGS), a wholly-owned 8(a) subsidiary of the Natives of Kodiak, an Alaska Native Corporation, provides high-quality remediation, consulting, engineering, waste management, munition services, and construction services. Our Client base includes the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Guard Bureau, Federal Aviation Administration, General Services Administration and Housing and Urban Development, as well as various state, municipal and commercial entities.

KOMAN Government Solutions has an immediate need for a Natural Resources Technician to support our business operations in Fort Novosel, Alabama.

The Natural Resources Technician will be required to perform supporting field duties to include:

  • Prescribed burning, wildlife trapping, forestry cruising, wildlife surveys, forest inventory, invasive species control, operating equipment associated with these tasks as well as other natural resources management operations.

  • Some of the equipment used and maintained by KGS: Dump truck, road grader, farm tractors, Dozers, ATV/UTV, Wildland Fire Brush Trucks, backhoe, boat and air boat.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in either Wildlife Biology/Forestry, plus 3+ years’ experience. In addition, this candidate will have a Class A or B CDL (preferred - must be able to obtain), boat operator’s license (preferred - must be able to obtain), NWGC firefighter Type 2 certification (preferred-must be able to obtain) and commercial pesticide license (preferred - must be able to obtain). Certification in field of expertise is preferred plus National, regional, State and Local environmental related certifications requiring experience and written examination preferred.

The rate of pay for this position is $25 per hour, plus $4.57 per hour towards health and welfare dollars. KGS offers outstanding benefits that include medical, dental, vision, 401k match and life/disability benefits.
