POSITION DEFINITION:

The Inventory Coordinator provides administrative support for the warehouses, tool rooms and supply rooms, including: maintaining required inventory levels, ensuring material specifications are met, ensuring the accuracy of quantity and quality of orders, verifying stock and identifying losses, maintaining an organized warehouse layout, loading and unloading orders, expediting receiving, shipping and warehousing of all materials and supplies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generates, receives and issues requisitions in JD Edwards database for inventory procurements

  • Works with Corporate office in annual inventory, also works internally verifying accuracy of quantity of inventory, and identifying losses

  • Investigates discrepancies in inventory and adjust errors – true up inventory dollars

  • Ensures safety and accountability via specifications, Material data Safety sheet (MSDS), etc.

  • Backs up Environmental Compliance Coordinator (safety), and QA/QC of fire appurtenances, etc., alongside Subsidiary Fire Marshal

  • Performs various maintenance work around the facility and pulling on-call duty/ supporting as a secondary Utility Worker

  • Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas

  • Marks stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment

  • Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations

  • Determines proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities

  • Keeps records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment

  • Generates requisitions in JD Edwards database for inventory procurements

  • Receives inventory into JD Edwards database

  • Issues inventory from JD Edwards database based on parts used and charges it to the associated job

  • Examines and inspects stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors

  • Provides assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers

  • Coordinates shipping needs via various shipping companies; maintains appropriate records; researches and recommends most efficient/cost-effective methods

  • Maintains the organization of the loading Dock area to help ensure safety and accessibility

  • Processes routine items and records, answers phones and takes messages, opens and distributes mail, organizes and maintains files, and verifies information and data for compliance with regulations and procedures

  • Supports the operations department in data entry and other special projects as required. Assist with day-to-day support of department managers

  • Receives and counts stock items, and records data manually or using computer

  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, and/or storage yards

  • Verifies inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigates discrepancies or adjust errors

  • Assists Subsidiary Fire Marshal in monthly inspections of extinguishers and appurtenances

  • May be required to operate one or more office machines such as, a calculator, copy machine, typewriter, facsimile, computerized mailing and postage metering systems or personal computer

  • May be required to operate heavy equipment such as, backhoes, dump trucks and forklifts

  • Works under general supervision

  • Performs other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • One year of warehouse inventory or related experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency with operating a computer and using software such as Microsoft Office Suite, in addition to JD Edwards

  • Moderate to heavy lifting required. Regularly required to lift up to 50 lbs. and on occasion, to assist moving boxes weighing 100lbs or more

  • Demonstrated ability to handle moderately complex assignments under general supervision

  • Valid state driver’s license

    COMPENSATION INFORMATION

    The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
