OHLA USA Dump Truck Driver in Fort Myers, Florida

Summary Our company has an immediate opening for aDump Truck DriverinFort Myers, Fl. The Dump Truck Driver will be responsible for the safe, efficient, economical movement of material year-round from one location to another as well as keeping the equipment in clean, serviceable condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Operate dump truck safely and efficiently on public highways and in off-road situations to deliver asphalt or aggregate material into asphalt paver, widener, stone box, storage bins or onto stockpiles.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post trip inspections and report mechanical issues to the shop manager.
  • Adhere to all DOT rules and regulations in addition to company policies.
  • Attend safety training and toolbox meetings hosted by Truck base Manager of Fleet Department.
  • Load, unload and protect cargo while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisors direction.
  • Job may demand working more than 40 hours in a week with day and night shifts and weekly schedules can include weekends.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must have a current valid Driver's License and maintain valid throughout employment.
    • CDL: Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL)without an air brakes restriction.
  • Clear MVR not to exceed points outlined in the Company Vehicle Policy
  • Ability to communicate with mechanics, supervisors, to perform job functions and report any mechanical issue.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to work flexible schedules such as nights, weekends, and overtime.
  • Pass drug test, fit-for-duty test, background check and clear with FMCSA.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods.
  • Climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and walking.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs over a distance of at least 10 feet.

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor construction sites with exposure to various weather conditionswith potential exposure to heat, dust, noise, and uneven terrain.
  • Noise levels associated with heavy equipment operation.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • May require extended hours, including nights and weekends, depending on project needs.
