Kids at Their Best (KATB) operates across a six-county rural area in Northeastern Colorado. AmeriCorps Members will build the capacity of grass roots community organizations to provide more services to families: focused on increasing food supplies, implementing health screenings, and community education to make sure immigrant families unfamiliar with local resources, or those struggling to obtain services due to language barriers, have needed

$3000 stipend over 10 weeks PLUS $1450 educational award

Responsibilities Develop/encourage healthy and appropriate bonds to encourage leadership skills and abilities in youth, both staff and participants Plan activities and collect materials for next day Serve summer meals following food safety training guidelines, follow protocol for recording number of meals served, and send meal numbers to Program Managers daily Unload coolers when food is delivered to your site and clean out coolers as needed. Engage with all children at sites, making sure everyone is included and welcome (Being a friend to individuals at the sites) using age appropriate activities such as arts and crafts and STEM activities Americorps Site Manager: Pick up and return all equipment and supplies to KATB HQ at the end of the day Report site needs to Program managers in a timely manner Attend weekly staff meetings and manager meetings/training Arrive at the site 15 minutes before start of day and stay 15 minutes after end of day to ensure that site is cleaned up, all trash is removed Americorp site managers ensures that all staff members clock in and clock out at appropriate times Ensure safety of all participants at site Attend city council meetings Coordinate and attend KATB Summer Events (ie. Bobstock, Family Nights, Thursday Night Live, Lemonade Stand, etc) as assigned Appropriately record work and event hours Replenish site totes with supplies Complete office hour tasks as assigned
