BAE Systems Network Engineer in Fort Meade, Maryland

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Network Engineer to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Common Access Platform (JCAP). The successful candidate will serve at the Fort Meade Maryland site. This position is contingent upon award.

The Network Engineer designs and plans network communication systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet the platform needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 10 Years with HS; 8 Years with AA; 5 Years with BS; 2 Years with MS; 0 Years with PhD

  • Candidates with Armed Forces, college courses or associate degree, extensive certification, and additional experience are highly encouraged to apply.

  • VMWare Certifications and 3 years of experience in VMWare vSphere; NSXT Data Center; vRealize

  • DoD 8570.01M/ IATII certification within 6 months of assignment to position (CAP, GSLC, CISM, CISSP (or Associate))

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Master s Degree in a STEM subject, particularly systems engineering, network engineering, or cybersecurity OR associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, or engineering or its equivalent with 15 years' relevant experience

  • High degree of organization and communications skills

  • VMWare Certifications and 5 years of experience in VMWare vSphere; NSXT Data Center; vRealize; vSAN; Cloud Foundation

  • AWS Cloud Architect

  • 2 years of Kubernetes Engineering and Delivery

  • Active, Reserve, or National Guard military service with network or cyber security experience

  • IAT level III (CISA, GSE, SCNA, GCIH, CISSP (or Associate)) or IAM Level III (GSLC, CISM, CISSP (or Associate))

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
