Summit Bodyworks Production Drafter in Fort Lupton, Colorado

Summit Bodyworks is looking for a production drafter who will be responsible for preparing new product design layouts band drawings for parts, weldments and assemblies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare new product design layout, part, weldment and assembly drawings. Revision and correct existing drawings. Create bills of materials and parts lists for assembly drawings. Assign part numbers per established guidelines. Work directly with Engineering Manager or Engineering Specialist and Sales to interpret project direction for the development or revision of the product Communicate with other departments as required for project work. Document actions by completing production and quality forms. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Maintain and wear all required personal protective safety equipment. Participate in all continuous improvement programs by offering suggestions and exhibiting initiative in areas within direct control. Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stopping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, copier machine and other office equipment. Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read numbers, reports and computer terminals. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires working occasionally in areas that are not ventilated or air-conditioned. Must understand vague and implicit instructions, and react favorably in all work situations. Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action for the organization at any given point in time. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. Ability to receive and analyze data and input into the computer. Ability to do simple math calculations, input data into the computer and analyze data as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: High School Diploma or equivalent BSME or equivalent (preferred) Must have a valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing Must have basic knowledge and understanding of drafting fundamentals along with experience in AutoCAD and Solidworks Experience in metal fabrication. Ability to work with multiple priorities and constant interruptions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant demands and shifting of priorities. * Ability to work with all levels of employees. Superior communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to be responsive and highly efficient with relaying information. Excellent computer skills. Detail oriented. Ability to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
