Nemean Solutions, LLC is looking for a US Army Military Historian

Background:

The Army University Press (AUP) has a regulatory mission to develop and conduct live and virtual staff rides for Combined Arms Center (CAC), TRADOC, and the Army at large. By focusing on the timeless and universal aspects of warfighting, staff rides provide important insights into military operations, the evolution of doctrine, concepts of leadership, and the face of battle. Staff rides support CAC and TRADOC priorities of leader development and professional military education by focusing participants on the human dimension of war.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a master's degree in history, or a related field, or five years of

  • experience working in the history field.

  • Ability to speak, write, and communicate effectively.

  • Ability to advise, counsel, direct, and evaluate students engaged in course assignments.

  • Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

  • Shall possess the physical stamina to negotiate rough, uneven terrain. For

  • example, certain staff rides require personnel to be able to walk up to five miles without assistance while carrying up to 15 pounds of educational materials.

  • Personnel shall be comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

  • Shall be able to read a map and navigate by road and by foot to various locations in both the field and virtual environments.

  • Military Education Level - Four

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of planning and leading staff rides in accordance with the three-phased methodology defined in this performance work statement.

  • Possess a working knowledge of current Army and Joint doctrine, including new doctrine as it becomes available in the Army Publishing Directorate catalog.

    Support Hours: The contractor is responsible for conducting business during core hours which are between 0900-1500. The government facility operating hours are between 0700-1630 Monday thru Friday except Federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed facility closings.

    Place of Performance: The primary work location is Army University Press, 290 Stimson Avenue, Truesdell Hall, Fort Leavenworth, KS 66027 or other U.S. or foreign locations as required.

    Travel: The applicant may be required to travel to other locations within CONUS and OCONUS locations in support of this contract.
