Summary This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resiliency and well-being of Soldiers and Families. Responsibilities In a Snack Bar prepares a limited variety of short order fast food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, French fries, etc. Prepares/slices lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and other vegetables for sandwiches, salads, and pizzas. Assures that tables/work surfaces are promptly cleared and cleaned and cleans other work areas to include walls, floors, equipment, and storage areas. Accepts food orders from patrons and serves alcoholic beverages and spot checks the guest checks to insure that the information recorded is correct. Coordinates food and beverage needs for special events, not limited to preparing and serving food and cleaning work areas. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualified candidates will possess the following: meet state/local age (18) requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverages (Projected appointment date: 7/1/2024), AND ability to work without more than normal supervision, AND ability to keep your work area clean, neat, and in order, AND basic food preparation and handling techniques, AND ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, AND knowledge of basic sanitization principles, AND ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment, AND ability to stand, stoop, bend, pull, push and reach for long periods of time, AND ability to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
