Description of Work Unit

The Department of Clinical Sciences mission is to assure the health and productivity of animals to meet societal needs through high quality educational programs for professional veterinary medical students, graduate veterinarians, and the public through a faculty and veterinary medical center of excellence, and to advance and disseminate comparative biomedical knowledge in an environment of interdisciplinary collaboration.

Position Summary

This position is a Research Associate II. The Translational Medicine Institute ( TMI ) within the Department of Clinical Sciences, Colorado State University, is seeking a Quality Control Specialist Research Associate II to support the laboratories working on Good Laboratory Practice ( GLP ) studies within the TMI to ensure that the Pre-Clinical Surgical Research Laboratory ( PSRL ) research studies being submitted to federal regulatory agencies are complete, accurate and following the guidelines set forth within the GLP parameters. This position is integral to the success of PSRL and Orthopedic Bioengineering Research Laboratory ( OBRL ) research studies. Quality control is defined as part of the quality management system focused on fulfilling quality requirements as well as operational techniques and activities on a daily basis.

Required Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant related field (e.g. data, media)and more than 3 years of relevant professional experience working within a Good Lab Practice ( GLP ) compliant laboratory

or

  • a recent Masters degree and no other significant professional experience

    AND

  • Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedure ( SOP ) development, organization and maintenance

  • Previous experience inspecting records to ensure data documentation compliance.

  • Competence in written and verbal communication, extreme attention to detail

  • Competence in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a GLP compliant laboratory

  • Previous experience with research project record keeping and data compilation/organization

  • Previous experience working with quality assurance documentation and personnel

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment and work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve, good communication skills and exercise good judgement with minimal supervision.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
