Description of Work Unit

Colorado State University ( CSU ) is a land-grant institution and is one of the fastest-growing research universities in the country, with annual research expenditures of nearly $400 million and an enrollment of over 33,000 students. The Systems Engineering Programs began in 2008 and offers graduate-level degrees including a Master of Engineering (M.E.), a Master of Science (M.S.), a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), a Doctor of Engineering (D.Eng.), and a graduate certification in Systems Engineering Practice. Systems Engineering gained full Department status in 2019. The Systems Engineering courses (and all degrees) are offered face-to-face and by distance delivery, synchronously and asynchronously, and may include lecture, seminar, and other distance education formats. Its culture is to embrace intellectual creativity at all levels, operating under the principles of openness, inclusiveness, and integrity.

Position Summary

The Department of Systems Engineering (https://www.engr.colostate.edu/se) at Colorado State University (Fort Collins campus) invites applications for Postdoctoral Fellowship positions to pursue research in design, optimization, assessment, and/or management of complex engineered systems.

Postdoctoral fellows will engage in groundbreaking, multi-disciplinary research in close collaboration with research groups in the Systems Engineering Department and other departments at CSU . Candidates with a demonstrated research background in one or more of the following topics are encouraged to apply:

  • Energy Systems

  • Automotive Systems

  • Transportation Systems

  • Human Factors

  • Cybersecurity

  • Model-based Systems Engineering

  • Design optimization, controls, and analytics

  • Situational robotics and awareness
