Job Location

  • Onsite - Fort Collins, CO

  • 2nd Shift - 2:30pm – 11:45pm MST (Monday - Thursday). 2:00pm - 7:00pm MST (Friday)

Role Summary

Perform safe and timely setups (material and molds) for production of molded parts, while maintaining production schedule and production documentation. Troubleshoot and analyze injection molding production processes.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Perform mold, material and auxiliary setups for production runs. Follow safety procedures and maintain high productivity by coordinating resources.

  • Troubleshoot problems to ensure minimum downtime and good quality parts

  • Communicate/interact with appropriate personnel to ensure high-quality production parts, adequate crossover information, and production schedule attainment.

  • Responsible for following quality system procedures. Assist in procedure development when required.

  • Ensure product quality and take appropriate action when non-conformities are identified. Maintain accurate records, as required.

  • Participate on appropriate teams (i.e., kaizen, inventory, First Response, 6-S, etc.). Take an active part in the performance review process.

  • Promote continuous improvement by learning new techniques and possessing a willingness to maintain current technical knowledge of the injection molding field.

  • Supports molding production schedule, manages inventory levels, and maintains proper storage of material and supplies within area of responsibility.

  • Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement of departmental documentation systems.

  • Conduct all activities in a fair, ethical manner in compliance with all corporate policies.

Essential Functions Quality:

  • Perform basic courtesy First Part inspection and addendum inspections as required with limited supervision.

  • Operate the Measuring Machine, Optical Comparator and various inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, and gauge pins if applicable.

  • Advise appropriate personnel of required updates on part inspection procedures, blueprints, SPC records and inspection records.

  • Responsible for following quality system procedures. Assists in procedure development when required. Ensures product quality and takes appropriate action when non-conformances are identified. Maintain accurate records as required.

Operating Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Previous experience in plastics material handling and quality control

  • Experience in plastic injection molding environment(s)

Education and Experience:

  • 3 – 10 years of utilizing Scientific Molding (or Decoupled© Molding) techniques

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • A technical degree is preferred (two year); however, equivalent injection molding, plastics operations, and quality experience may be substituted

Required Training

  • 1 – 3 years of Scientific Molding (or Decoupled© Molding) techniques

  • Plastics material handling

  • Plastic Injection Molding machine environment(s)

Other Qualifications & Physical Requirements

Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Department Leader/Manager and may take direction from Injection Molder III and/or Production Leads

Supervisory Duties: None
