In-Situ Inc. Commodity Manager (Mechanical) in Fort Collins, Colorado

Reports To: Director of Supply Chain Department: Supply Chain Location: Fort Collins, CO GENERAL PURPOSE: In-Situ's Commodity Manager is the primary liaison with In-Situ's suppliers. This role is responsible to lead and grow relationships to support In-Situ's objectives. This individual will be the key subject matter expert and will provide strategic oversite to the organization. The Commodity Manager will work with the Supply Chain Director to set the vision for supply chain strategies and is responsible to manage performance during New Product Development through the life cycle of our products. This role will facilitate early collaboration between Suppliers, Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) and ME Engineering. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Create and implement the Mechanical Global Commodity Strategy. Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts. Secure Quality, Availability, and Cost performance for materials that support In-Situ manufacturing and new product development Provide leadership and direction to the Purchasing team to accomplish company objectives. Drives sourcing, risk mitigation and cost-reduction initiatives. Track and provide upper management and project team with updates on the procurement and delivery of inventory for new product launches. Analyze and propose strategies to secure availability of material while managing risk. Partner with Legal counsel to create, negotiate and maintain Supplier contracts. Develops and administers supplier contracts for managingcosts, schedules, performance factors, service levels, supplier liability limits, and continuity of supply. Identify and monitor market conditions, analyze impact, and lead cross functional efforts to secure availability (Redesigns, Risk buys). Identify purchasing "best practices" and lead implementation into the In-Situ supply chain system. Support the integration of companies into the In-Situ business model. Manage monthly Supplier dashboards (OTD, Responsiveness, and PPM). Lead and manage Supplier Business Reviews, working closely with Buyers, SQE and Suppliers. Work with NPD (New Product Development) teams to insure fast and seamless introduction of new designs to full production. Participate and responsible for the early engagement with the Supplier, SQE and Engineering for all New Product Development Projects in order to identify and address risks. OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive continuous improvement projects and process improvements. Encourage Suppliersto provide input and suggestions, and help them to improve their pricing, quality and timely deliveries. Attend and actively participate in daily Production and NPD stand ups with Buyers. Exhibit openness and honesty with both Suppliers and customers. Participate in internal and external training and workshops. Actively pursue on-going personal development of relevant knowledge and skills. Proficient at matching a vendor capability to the drawing requirements. Experience reading technical drawings, data sheets, fab drawing, and BOMs. Thoroughly negotiate favorable contracts including parts pricing, tooling costs and Engineering Services (NRE / EDT) SUPERVISORY DUTIES: No Direct Reports JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Must have 10+ years' experience in Supply Chain with a demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategies for the commodities that In-Situ utilizes. Must be a team player capable with partnering and creating relationships both externally with suppliers and internally with cross functional teams. Must be a Self-starter with the ability to work independently while relentlessly pursing improvements. Must manage project timelines and objectives. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs; personal computing tools including word processing, spreadsheets and order processing applications. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as individu l and team interaction skills. Ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams and offer ideas and solutions. Strong interpersonal, analytical skills and financial acumen Must be able to set and attain goals and initiate action to resolve problems and continuously improve products, processes, and services. Experience supporting both manufacturing and new product development EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING: Required commodity experience: Machining and Injection Molding. Additional commodity experience: Adhesives, Connectors, Cable and Optics. EXPERIENCE: 10+ years working experience in Supply Chain, preferably in a Commodity Manager or Supplier Management role. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree - Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Management preferred. WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Preferred on-site, but some level of remote work acceptable. General office environment with some time spent each day in production areas and with cross functional teams. Travel <25% Lifting, bending, reaching, squatting, walking, sitting. Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 per year Additional Compensation: Participation in a Company sponsored variable compensation plan.
