Job Description

SUMMARY Performs Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS). Perform a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinical privileges granted by the MTF.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on an evaluation of the patient. Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function. Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing various physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily living activities, and in use of assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses. Administer soft tissue mobilization, applying knowledge of mobilization techniques and body physiology. Record treatment, response, and progress in the patient's electronic health record. Coordinate treatment with physician and other staff members to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of the patient's health care. Contact referring physicians regarding patient care concerns, as required. Perform prevention and wellness activities, education, screening, and promote positive health behaviors. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Masters or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from a Physical Therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. Electromyography certified. Must possess and maintain an active, current, valid, and unrestricted license from a US jurisdiction (fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands) to practice independently within the defined scope of practice for their specialty Must have a minimum of 24 months in the last 36 months of documented current clinical independent experience and competency in an orthopedic setting. Must have the level of experience and documented current clinical competency to be awarded "Regular" privileges to work independently. Must be able to safely execute the responsibilities of their specialty in providing health care. Has no medical or mental condition that prevents or that significantly reduces an individual's ability to safely execute their approved scope of practice in providing health care.
