NOVA Technologies Simulator Technician I in Fort Campbell, Kentucky

As a Simulation Technician I, this position configures, maintains, and operates computer and lab equipment and contributes to the implementation, integration, testing, and support of engineering projects. This position requires basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions and works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The essential job functions for this position include: Contributing to the implementation, integration, testing, and support of engineering projects. Configuring, maintaining, and operating computer/lab equipment. Troubleshooting and resolving engineering support problems Applying working technical/non-technical knowledge to perform maintenance tasks on various devices Performing routine maintenance using maintenance requirement cards and instructional manuals. Performing daily system readiness checks. Isolating malfunctions, track repair status, and replacing defective components. Documenting maintenance activities utilizing the logistics management database system. Assisting with shipping, receiving, and researching parts. Following all technical, quality, and safety guidelines in performance of duties. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Associate or Bachelor’s degree required in electrical, electronic, or engineering technology or a certificate from an accredited technical institute (with a minimum of 600 hours of electronics instruction). One to three years of work experience in scientific or technical field or three years equivalent technical experience. Possesses basic Microsoft Windows Operating System skills and knowledge of Windows server environments. Has the ability to read, analyze, interpret and update technical documents. Basic math skills necessary. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, fractions, percentages and ratios to practical situations. Understanding of CAAS systems and three airframes as it pertains to aerodynamics, systems, and ability to understand problems from Pilots. Knowledge of computer, electronic hardware, and hydraulics, that make up the simulator systems. This includes testing and troubleshooting the following systems; Image Generator (IG) systems, projectors, 6DOF motion systems (electric and hydraulic), I/O systems, computer systems, hydraulic and electronic driven flight control systems. Knowledgeable in system networking. Preferred Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations Security+ Certification Supervisory Responsibility This position has no authority or responsibility for the supervision of others. Work Environment, Programs, and Tools This position operates in an office environment and may be exposed to environmental conditions. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. This position also has medium level of physical requirements to include exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequently requires the individual to sit, walk, talk, listen, use close eye acuity to perform computer tasks, machinery, vehicle, equipment or observations of structures and facilities as well as distinguish colors, use hands/fingers to feel, grasp, or type, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and pull. This position is also subject to noise and hazards which includes fumes, grease, machinery, electrical current, high places, close quarters and narrow passageways, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Required knowledge of the following tools, equipment, and software includes computer, printer, hard drives, government systems, Sharepoint drive, Image Generator (IG) systems, projectors, 6DOF motion systems, I/O systems, computer systems, hydraulic and electronic driven control systems, Digital meters, Oscilloscope, Soldering station, standard hand and power tools, Windows, Linux and various simulator software programs and applications. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This position will be on a Government facility and will require adherence to the Government site hours of operation. This position is a full-time position, expected to work 40 hours a week. This position may require evening/weekend work and work outside of the Government site hours of operations when needed to support Program needs. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Security Clearance Secret Clearance is required.
