What You’ll Get to Do:

This position is for a Network Engineer to work in a full-time capacity supporting designated special operations units. This position requires strong interpersonal skills due to continual interaction with managers, clients, and users with varying technical backgrounds in a fast-paced work environment.

More About the Role:

The successful candidate will be a mid to senior level network engineer whose responsibilities will include design engineering, installing, and troubleshooting data and telecommunications network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess and in-depth knowledge of Cisco routers and switches. This includes knowledge of datacenter equipment, including physical security, WAN connections, VLANs, VLAN trunking, multicast, IPsec, firewalls and experience with shell scripting. The candidate needs to possess the ability to

troubleshoot a wide array of system, networking, and hardware problems as well as experience with routing protocols.

The duties for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • -Monitor the network to ensure it is operating at optimal levels for high availability using Solarwinds NCM/NPM.

  • -Offer 24/7 support to customers in routing, switching, and cryptography.

  • -Track ongoing issues, outages, and configuration.

  • -Report to senior leadership any issues affecting local and distant nodes for situational awareness and reporting.

  • -Assist with maintaining documentation of the network infrastructure for the purpose of troubleshooting.

  • -Assist onsite administrators with the configurations required for the deployment of mission essential mobility kits.

  • -Provide configuration and troubleshooting support for the existing voice and video architecture extending to offsite users.

  • -Maintain relationship with vendors for purchasing and budgeting.

Additional requirements include creating and updating network documentation, network assessments and reporting results. Experience should include Network Engineering (hardware and software) using routers, switches, network security devices, protocol analyzers, TCP/IP, CISCO Unified Communications (call manager) and CISCO Identity Server Engine (ISE).

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Required:

  • A DOD Top Secret Security Clearance with DCID 6/4 eligibility

  • Minimum of 2-6 years experience as a Network Engineer

  • Must be DoD Directive 8570 compliant.

  • The ability to design, plan, and implement LANs and WANs using the latest technology.

  • The ability to identify and troubleshoot hardware and software technical problems related to LANs/WANs

  • CISCO Call Manager/ISE

  • KG; tunnels, and routing

  • EIGRP routing

  • The ability to conduct throughput analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning.

  • Familiarity with Solarwinds NCM/NPM

  • CISCO NXOS/IOS

  • High availability best practices using VPC/Port-Channels

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • The ability to function as a member of a team while also capable of operation alone with little to no supervision or constant guidance.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline minimum.

  • CCNA, CCNP and/or CCIE Certification

  • Securing devices using DISA STIGS

  • VMWare VNX

  • 4-8 year’s experience as a Network Engineer

  • Military Background and/or experience Special Operations.

$65,000 - $136,500
