Job Description:

Systems Administrator - HBSS

GDIT is seeking highly experienced and qualified System Administrator - Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) to support our Mission Command (MC) training teams at the Fort Bliss, TX Mission Training Complex (MTC). The ideal candidate acts as a recognized technical expert in base labor category description.

HOW THE SYSTEMs ADMINISTRATOR - HBSS WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Maintains RMF servers for the MTC.

  • Builds, maintains and configures all RMF Servers.

  • Assists team members with updating standalone systems, call manager and ASTi.

  • Assists units and any other components during exercises.

  • Reviews STIGs and Best Business Practices (BBPs) to ensure all servers meet the required Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Army and DOD standards.

  • Troubleshoots MCIS and other related system software issues. Manages MCIS and other related systems with IAVAs and updates.

  • Provides IT Technical Support for the MTC, its functional training teams and training units

  • Provides operational, intelligence, and administrative planning support necessary to meet the needs of the task order by providing capability briefings and demonstrations of various training systems and simulation capabilities for Mission Command Training audience, Sr. Leaders and Government-designated officials.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline or equivalent years of experience. Three (3) years’ experience as a System Administrator can be substituted for the lack of a degree

  • Experience: Must have 5 years of computer experience in information systems design and management. At least 3 years of experience in analysis and design of business applications for complex large-scale or mid-tier computer systems, or LAN-based on a US Military staff (Battalion or higher). 3 years of experience in the management of project, program, or site of similar size, scope and complexity.

  • Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Security Clearance: Secret required to start

  • Desired Skills:

  • Location: Fort Bliss, TX MTC. Normal work schedule is 0730-1630, may require night or weekend work shifts depending on specific training event requirements

  • Travel: Less than 10% expected
